Just a week after officially teasing the device, Vivo has announced the latest entrant to its flagship and flash NEX lineup with the launch of the Vivo NEX Dual Screen. Unlike the Vivo NEX which came with a mechanical moving part for the front camera, the second generation NEX smartphone will instead feature dual screen technology and a triple camera setup on just one side of the smartphone.

The dual-SIM Vivo Nex Dual Screen runs Funtouch OS 4.5 on top of Android 9.0 Pie. It sports two display panels – a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) 19.5:9 AMOLED panel at the front and a 5.49-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 16:9 AMOLED panel at the back. Internally, the Vivo Nex is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630, 10GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. with a 3500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.

Vivo Nex Dual Screen Edition: Camera 

it has  three cameras . The setup consists of a 12MP primary camera with a f/1.79 aperture, a 2MP secondary camera, and the third lens with an f/1.3 aperture with a TOF (Time-of-flight) 3D camera. The third lens can do a lot of things, claims Vivo. It can accurately map objects at up to three meters in front of it, precisely track movements of the user’s entire body and facial authentication.

You  also noticed the ring on the back of the smartphone and it’s called “Lunar Ring”. The Lunar Ring acts as a light when you take a photo and it also doubles as a notification alert.

Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition: Release date, price

The Nex Dual Display Edition is currently exclusive to China, Vivo’s home market. The phone will go on sale in China on December 29. The smartphone is priced at 4,998 yuan (or approx Rs 52,243). Right now there’s no word on its release in India.
