Xiaomi Poco F2 concept render show’s higher screen space, improved rear design

Xiaomi Poco F2 Concept by Benjamin Geskin

Xiaomi launched its first Poco F1 smartphone with a top-notch Qualcomm chipset and impressive camera experience without burning a hole in your pocket. Now, rumors of the Poco F2 have started making rounds on the web. Popular tipster and design, Benjamin Geskin has shared a concept render of the Poco F2. The handset can be seen sporting a waterdrop notch enabled display like the Xiaomi Mi Play.

he render suggests that the successor to the Poco F1 could feature a shrunken waterdrop style notched display, similar to what we have seen on the Xiaomi Mi Play. It could also sport a vertically-stacked dual rear camera setup at the top-left corner assisted by dual-LED flash, a selfie camera as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Poco F1 too offered a single selfie camera, featuring the traditional notch. The render further indicates that the handset could offer a higher screen space than its predecessor.

The Poco F2 was recently spotted on Geekbench, revealing the key specifications of the device. As per the listing, The Geekbench listing shows the Poco F2 runs Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC. This is interesting as the Poco F1 also recently received an update to MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. Also, since the original Poco model comes with a Snapdragon 845 SoC, its successor can safely be speculated to sport the next-generation, Snapdragon 855 SoC.

The Geekbench listing also suggests that the Poco F2 will come with 6GB of RAM. We can presume an 8GB RAM variant as well.

The smartphone listed on Geekbench received a single-core score of 2,321 and multi-core score of 7,564. Also, it is important to point out that the Geekbench listing carries December 28 as upload date.
